''The Benalla Standard'' says -"It is some what remarkable that no less than four horses, owned by residents of [[Benalla|Benalla]], have been missed within the last week or ten days. Most of the horses are said to be good and suspicions point to the Kelly gang. We were told by a person yesterday that Ned had his eye on one of these horses some time ago, and expressed a desire to become its possessor. Our informant also assured us that he believed the horses were wanted by the gang in order to recommence business."
