The board to inquiry into the management of the police force particularly with reference to the Kelly outbreak, has been appointed. It is constituted as follows - His Honour Judge Cope chairman, the Hon W M'Culloch MLC, Mr J H Graves MLA, Mr T Hunt MLA, Mr J Gibb MLA, F Longmore MLA, and Mr W Anderson MLA, Mr S Oddie, and Mr G C Levey Mr J Williams acts as secretary.

Application has been made by the Chief Secretary to the Law department that arrangements may be made to relieve Judge Cope from any duties that may clash with his taking charge of this inquiry. The proceedings it is understood, will be open to the public.
