History at Carraramgurmungee before the KellyGang

First taken up by overlanders from New South Wales in 1837 to 1840

David Reid occupied the run in about 1845 in the May Day Hill . While gold been seen on the run it was officially discovered in 1852. After this a large part of Carraramgurmungee became Spring Creek, later called Beechworth.

In 1876 it was licensed to Charles Hutton the half yearly license fee was £125
