Early Years Photograph In 1857 I was stationed at Sebastopol.

I went out with Ass Com Nicolson on search parties (RC448) Stringybark Creek Murders On 21/10/1878 Sup Sadleir issued the orders for our search party. (Sgt Kennedy has a copy of the order)

At the time of the murders I was out with a search party with SConst Strahan and Consts Thom and Ryan. On the day of the murders we met Det Ward Power's Lookout (Argus6/11/78)(RC3133) (RC1727)

We returned to Benalla about 4/11/1878 (Alexandra9/11/1878)(RC7986)

Euroa Robbery 10/2/1879 I led a search party from Bright after the Euroa robbery. (RC1262) Hare replaced by Nicolson 6/7/1879 Nicolson appointed me to the station at Bright. (RC2nd report XII)(RC713) Death of Aaron Sherritt 26/6/1880 I was stationed at Bright at the time Glenrowan Siege 28/6/1880

I was not at the Glenrowan seige Royal Commission I was not called to give evidence Early Service A member of Const Shoebridge's family has kindy supplied the following information.

Const Shoebridge arrived in Melbourne in 1853 on the Helen Lindsey from Middlesex in England. He was stationed at Greta and Beechworth but spent a long time at Bright after being appointed in charge of the station there in 1879.

Later Service I recieved a watch as a reward. The inscription says, 'Presented to Mr Shoebridge as a mark of respect by members of the police under his charge when in search of the Kelly Gang'

After 34 years police service he retired on 15/9/1888 and bought a house at 2 Wood St Bright and died in 1907.

I married Annie O'Brien in the Beechworth Catholic Church on 3 Sep 1863
