Early Years I joined the police in 1853 (RC13815)

I was stationed at Beechworth in the hunt against Harry Power. (Argus2/9/69)

Later

I led the escort that took Ned Kelly down to Melbourne. (RC12214)

I escorted Ned Kelly from Beechworth Gaol to the Beechworth Court House for his committal (Argus7/8/80)
