APPENDIX 20

MINUTES OF PROCEEDINGS AT MEETINGS HELD BY THE ROYAL COMMISSION

WEDNESDAY, 30TH MARCH 1881. .

Present:

Mr. LONGMORE in the Chair;

Mr Anderson, Mr Gibb

Mr Dixon, Mr Hall

Mr Fincham

The minutes of previous meeting were read and confirmed.

Moved by Mr. Dixon seconded by Mr. Anderson—

Resolved —That Mr Sadleir, Superintendent of Police, Benalla, be instructed to hold himself in readiness, upon receipt of a telegram, to proceed to Melbourne for the purpose of giving evidence before the commission, and to bring with him all documents, reports, letters, telegrams, &c., in his possession, relating to the pursuit and destruction of the Kelly gang.

Ordered —That application be made to the Police Department for the correspondence which took place in reference to the transfer of a tracker named Moses from the Queensland to the Victorian service.

Mr. O’Connor called and examined. Examination closed.

The meeting adjourned until the following day, at Eleven o'clock.
