REWARD BOARD

The board appointed to inquire into and report upon the proper mode of distributing the Kelly reward have forwarded to His Excellency the Governor the result of their labours. One moiety of the reward has been distributed as nearly as circumstances would admit in accordance with the regula- tions for the distribution of prize money in the Imperial service. A further distribution has been made among the police and others who, under Superintendents Hare, Sadleir, and Sergeant Steele, took part in and performed special work. Some rewards have also been recommended for individual service.

ROYAL COMMISSION

The Police Board met again yesterday, and heard a good deal of evidence from Mr Wyatt , PM, and Mr Sadleir .  Mr Wyatt spoke in most laudatory terms of the actions of the police in the pursuit of the Kellys. It is not likely that the board will visit the district for the purpose of taking evidence for some weeks.
