Early Years I was born in 1860 and grew up with my brother Aaron and Joe Byrne. We went to school together Stringybark Creek Murders 26/10/1878 We were not involved with the KellyGang at this stage Sebastopol Cavalcade 7/11/1878 Aaron had his first meeting with the senior police around this time

I gave evidence for Aaron Sherritt at his trial over "Charlie" (OMA29/7/79)

Second Cave Party 12/1879-4/1880 Dan Kelly visited me in about November (RC15216)

The family was not happy when Aaron married his wife but I thought that Belle was a nice enough girl and I used to visit them from time to time. Especially after Aaron started to get threatening letters. I know that Mum did not visit Aaron and Belle and I doubt if to many other members of the family cared much for the marriage. You know Belle was a catholic (RC13227)

I knew Const Duross (RC3808)

Death of Aaron Sherritt

I was not involved Inquest into death of Aaron Sherritt

I gave evidence at Aaron's inquest (DailyTelegraph29/6/80)(FH)

Later

Com Standish gave my brother John and I orders to join the police. (RC15216)

Although Sup Hare had not met me or my brother John Aaron's death, he thought that unless the authorities showed some consideration for the families of those who had assisted the police, on any future occasion they would have the greatest difficulty in getting men to work for the police.

See my brother for the story of what happened(RC1598)
