Michael's role in the story

I was a farm boy with Mrs Kelly

Links to the KellyGang

Early Years I got a job as a farm boy at Mrs Kelly's farm in early 1876.

Later I was arrested for stealing a chestnut mare and foal from John Quinn of Glenmore, Mrs Kelly's brother. Earlier Ned Kelly had been charged with the same offence. I was sentenced to 3 years imprisonment. I was dragged into this by the Kellys and Quinns. These Irish families always play hard and they are always fighting.

Fitzpatrick Incident 15/04/1878 Photograph I told the authorities on about 7/2/1879 that I thought the KellyGang would be making for the head of the Murray, Paddy's River, in New South Wales; a track crosses head of Paddy's River to Yarrangobilly Ranges into the Maneroo country, between Paddy's River and Yarrangobilly (RC App13) Later .
