Glenrowan Siege 28/6/1880 Special train leaves Melbourne to go to Beechworth - follow up on death of Aaron Sherritt

I was driver on the special train from Melbourne to Benalla and on the pilot engine from Benalla to Glenrowan. (RC8044)

Arrive at Glenrowan

I arrived at Glenrowan by train at about 2.30 am on the morning of the siege with Sup Hare.

We spent the day moving trains backwards and forwards

Following the meetings of the Reward Board in December 1880 I recieved a reward of about £68 Early Career Later Career .

Family

I was born in 1848, the son of Thomas Coleman and Mary Ann Trotter. I joined the Railways in 1866

wife Fanny Ducat children Thomas (step son) Kate,Sarah, Elizabeth, George, Kate.

I died in 1901
