'''Euroa Robbery 10/12/1878''' I was stationed in [[Euroa|Euroa]] at this time. People say that I met Steve [[Steve Hart|Hart]] on the afternoon of the robbery some time before they went off to the bank.
I did not hear a thing about the robbery until much later that evening. As soon as I knew about the robbery I hoped on the 9.30pm train and went up [[Benalla Police Station|Benalla]]. Manyof the people in Euroa thought that I should have stayed to look after the town and send someone else. When I got there I saw Sgt [[Whelan|Whelan]] at the telegraph office. I told him that the bank had been stuck up at Euroa. I then went back as part of the search party.
