Spring 1879 Early 1880 Det Ward sent a man to stay a few days with us to see if we knew about the police cave party set up to watch Mrs Byrne's place.

We told him that the KellyGang was still in the country, that they were going to do something good, that Mrs. Byrne's people were in great joy-they were not one bit frightened of being caught-that the outlaws would astonish the world the next thing they would do.(RC14112)
