First taken up by the Shelleys, overlanders from New South Wales in 1837 to 1840 (35,000 acres)

In 1876 the license was owned by D Norrie, 33,645 acres, half yearly fee £215 12 00

There was a railway line from Wodonga to Cudgewa. The line was used initially for timber and agriculture the line became an important part of the construction of the Snowy Mountains Hydro-electric scheme after the Second World War See [1]
