Death of Aaron Sherritt 26/6/1880 On 25/6/1880 I went to visit Hare in Benalla and told him about the KellyGang and that they were likely to break out soon and about them making armour.(RC16566) Glenrowan Siege 28/6/1880

I wrote to Ass Com Nicolson on 13/7/1880 and again on 16/3/1881. (RC2997)

CB William's (not William Charles Balfour) application for a share of the reward was rejected by the reward Board but they recommended that he was worthy of special recognition for services rendered during the period of the search for the outlaws. There is no other reference to 'CB William' on this site
