'''NED KELLYS WOUNDS'''

At the request of Ned Kelly, who complained of severe pain in his foot, Dr Shields performed yesterday on the bushranger, and succeeded in extracting a Martini-Henry bullet. The bullet seems to have taken a most eccentric course.  The boot and the wound in the leg showed that it entered through the upper at the instep, and was arrested under the sole, being quite under the surface, and this caused Kelly’s lameness.  The patient is now progressing favorably, and says that his pain is quite relieved.  Mr Gaunson had a long interview with the bushranger yesterday, and received instructions for the preparation of the defence.
