I was born in 1843 in Wangaratta, Vic, I married Jane Gallagher in 1869 in Beechworth Vic,

Jerilderie Robbery 10/2/1879 April 1879 I was employed by Mr. Hare as a scout and guide to assist the police in the pursuit of the Kellys , at the rate of one pound per day. (RC16863)

I then went out for 13 days looking for the KellyGang but Sadleir would not pay me.(RC16863)

Hare replaced by Nicolson 6/7/1879 AssCom Nicolson asked me to visit him in Wangaratta. At first I refused to work for him because I had not been paid by Sadleir and Hare. But after a while I agreed and finished up working for him up until the end of his time in June 1880. (RC16863) (JJK) Kelly Reward Board I applied for part of the reward. They did not give me a penny. Royal Commission I did not give evidence at the Royal Commission. My affidavit was read to the Royal Commission (RC16863) Later Years I continued to farm at Carboor untill 1914 age 71

I died in Oxley in 1919 and am buried in the Milawa Cemetery

My parents were Patrick Kirwan 1818-1861 & Margaret Grady 1818-1862. They immigrated from Cloughbawn, County Wexford, Ireland in 1840.

My brothers and sisters were James 1839-1861, John 1841-1911, Andrew 1848-1884, Patrick 1848-1914, and Maryann 1850-?
