I went out with search parties under Ass Com Nicolson ([[Royal Commission report day 2 page 10|RC448]])

Just after the murders I took out a search party from [[Mansfield|Mansfield]] to Lancefield on road to Wombat, [[Stringy Bark Creek|Stringy Bark Creek]] falls (Ryan's branch ?) to Roschiel homestead, Peter Lane's run, between [[Fifteen Mile Creek (2)|Mason's Fifteen Mile Creek]] and Killers, on head of [[Fifteen Mile Creek|Fifteen-mile Creek]], to right-hand branch of the [[King River|King]] River. Later was sent out in charge of a search party of 4 or 5 police on horse back from [[Benalla Police Station|Benalla]] after the murders.
