'''KELLY GANG POWDER MAGAZINE'''

MELBOURNE , Friday,

Mr Griffiths, a farmer at [[Kilfera|Lurg]], in the Benalla district, was burning off an old stump yesterday, when a terrific explosion was heard. It burst the slump into fragments, and tore a large hole in the ground. An examination made afterwards showed the remains of a powder casket. The stump had been used by the Kelly Gone as a place for storing powder.
