Wangaratta Resident Dies

WANGARATTA Sunday -Mr Edwin R [[Lyving|Living]], who lived at Wangaratta for 45 years died at his home, Warreena, Swan street early yesterday morning. Mr Living who would have reached his 80th year in July was born at Castlemaine where he joined the staff of the Bank of New South Wales. He was afterwards stationed at Melbourne and Adelaide and then at Wilcannia (NSW) where he opened a blanch of the bank. Next he   went to Jerilderie and was there when the Kelly gang raided the bank. Ned Kelly took Mr Living's watch but returned it when he found that it was out of order, and his saddle which he sent back two or three days later. As Ned Kelly was leaving the bank he handed Mr Living at letter which he requested should be published. In this letter Ned Kelly is said to have told his story staling that he was harassed by the police. From Jerilderie Mr Living went to Ararat and Malmsbury and then carne to Wangaratta where he was manager of the branch of the Bank of New South Wales for 30 years until he retired some years ago. He was associated with many public bodies in Wangaratta.

He has left a widow one son Captain R M Living and two daughters the Misses Sylvia and Constance Living. The funeral at the Wangaratta Cemetery this afternoon was largely attended
