SUPREME COURT. Old Court House

(Before His Honour Mr Justice Barry)

Central Criminal Court-The Queen v. Edward Kelly.

New Court House SITTING IN EQIUTY

(Before His Honour Mr Justice Molesworth ) Usual Thursday business

In Chambers

His Honour Mr. Justice Higginbotham will take Chamber business at half past 10 o'clock,

As mentioned in Parliament

The trial of Edward Kelly the bushranger has been postponed until the 28th inst. The application was made on the ground that the prisoner was not in a position to be properly defended owing to inability to obtain money to pay for counsel that an application had   been made to the Crown for funds for the defence but that the fees allowed by the Crown were not adequate compensation for the work that would have to be done and it was said if a postponement were granted till next sittings the prisoner would be in a position through his friends to employ counsel.
