The Argus at KellyGang 5/10/1881

(full text transcription)

The Police Commission met again yesterday in private, and deliberated on the nature of the progress report they are to submit respecting the operations of the police in the pursuit of the Kelly gang. Several resolutions were arrived at, and although we are not yet in a position to state their effect, it may be said that they point to important changes amongst the officers of the force. Info rmation has reached the commission showing that since the police began patrolling the Kelly country crime has almost ceased, and further outbreaks of a serious character have been rendered well nigh impossible. ,
