Early Years I was appointed to the Greta police station by Hare and Mr Nicolson. I had a reputation of arresting the Greta mob as often as the opportunity offered. (RC9231)

This is what Ned Kelly said about me in the Cameron Letter at the time Ned assaulted Mr and Mrs McCormack:

'....I was once arrested by Constable Hall and I4 more men in Greta, and there was a subscription raised for Hall, by persons who had too much money about Greta, in honour of Hall arresting Wild Wright and Gunn, ...'.
