The Gunbower Races took place yesterday and were a great success. The fields were very large, the events well contested, and the attendance good. Subjoined are the details -

HURDLE RACE

The first and second divlded stakes, as Blue Jacket's rider protested against Touchstone, who did not start from hls allotted place at scratch
FARMERS RACE
Nicholas 1
Polly 2
Farmer 3
The race was awarded to Polly as Nicholas could not pull the 30 cwt round the course
HACK RACE
Maid of the Mist 1
Beallba, Sultan, and Mavflower tied for second place. The winner was only half a nose ahead
CONSOLATION STAKES
