The Police Commission, after a lengthy recess, met yesterday for the purpose of discussing whether they should continue their inquiry into the general management of the police force. There were present-Messes Longmore (chairman), Fincham, Anderson, and Hall, MLA's, and Mr E J. Dixon.

A letter was received from Mr. Gibb, MLA, who is now in Sydney, stating that he was in favour of a resumption of proceedings. Mr G C Levey, who is likewise absent from the colony had written to state that he was willing to abide by the decision of the majority. On the motion of Mr Fincham it was resolved that in accordance with the terms of the commission the present state and organisation of the police force should be inquired into; and a sub-committee, consisting of the chairman and Messrs. Fincham and Hall, was appointed to arrange as to future action. At the next sitting of the commission, which is to take place on a day to be named, Mr Chomley, chief commissioner of police, will be examined as a witness.
