'''RUMOURED TRACES OF THE KELLYS'''

MANSFIELD, Tuesday ([[The Argus at KellyGang 7/5/1879|see]])

The police this morning received information that a man, armed with revolvers and a gun, went to Mr Blohm's house, near [[Mount Battery|Mount Battery]] station, Mansfield, and inquired if Monk had gone to Mansfield or to his home at Wombat. The man was hungry, and had something to eat, and sat talking nearly two hours. This occurred on Saturday night. After the stranger left, or on the following day, Blohm related the occurrence to a neighbour and from a description given the neighbour said he was sure the man he saw was Dan Kelly, who was well known to him. This morning the neighbour was indeed to come; into the camp and give information to the police, who have started off with the black trackers. The police have just returned leading a horse without a saddle. Further preparations are being made at the camp and more armed mounted troopers have just left.
