The Queensland [[Police Trackers|trackers]] are now at work in Victoria . The ''[[Albury|Border Post]]'' of Saturday says that "a detachment of Queensland police, consisting of Sub inspector O'Connor, Senior sergeant [[SConst King|King]], and six black con stables, arrived in Albury early on Friday. The trackers are wiry little fellows, specially selected by Mr O'Connor for the service they are now engaged on, their equipment consisting of a short rifle, and a revolver for each man. The party are under the orders of the Victorian Government, and were met here by the commissioner of police, Captain [[Standish|Standish]], who held a long consultation with the officer in charge. After arrival at Benalla, they will work independently of the Victorian police, and entirely under the direction of Mr. O'Connor."
