The recommendations of the Police [[Reward|Reward Board]] are not, apparently, regarded as altogether satisfactory by the Chief Secretary. Mr Berry is consequently taking time to consider his position as regards the board before acting upon the report. Half the money, or £4,000, is given by the Government of New South Wales, who agreed to refer the distri bution to the Victorian board, and who may in any case consider themselves bound by the decision of the referees to whose ap pointment they consented.
