'''THE POL1CE MURDERS'''

We are indebted to our Melbourne contemporises for the following:-

BENALLA, 24th December (see)

This afternoon the police obtained some important information respecting the proceedings of Mrs Quinn, an aunt of the KeIIys, who lives in the Strathbogie Ranges. It has been ascertained that Mrs Quinn has been supplying the outlaws with food ever since the pursuit commenced, and that she rendered them every possible assistance. Intelligence has been received that the Kellys are in the habit of visiting at the home Yesterday on the receipt of this information a large force of police was at once dispatched in order to surround the dwelling and arrested all the inmates under the [[Felons Apprehension Act|Outlawry Act.]] It was though that some of the Kelly gang, not anticipating the arrival of the police, might be caught in the woman’s house but it seems very improbable that if the Kellys or their confederates would allow themselves to be entrapped in that way.
