'''THE KELLY GANG'''

[BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH]

(FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT)

MANSFIELD, WEDNESDAY

At last there is some reliable news of the KellyGang. Information has been brought to Mansfield that the KellyGang are about the Puzzle Ranges, within 20 miles of Mansfield. A large party of police went off on Monday, and are said to have come upon the Kellys camp. They found two saddles and other trappings. Further information has been brought in by a man which is said to be of an important nature. Sub inspector [[Pewtress|Pewtress]] is out with other members of the force on a good scent. Their return is anxiously looked for. All these facts point strongly to the surmise that the gang have not been many miles out of this district. Other circumstances affording strong proof of this have been communicated to the police, but it is not deemed advisable to publish all the information received.

___________

The police have received intelligence which leads them to believe that the Kelly gang are concealed in the Puzzle Ranges, about 20 miles from Mansfield. Traces of their camp are said to have been discovered. Strong detachments of police are scouring the ranges.
