'''Summary of the evidence on day 13 of the hearings'''

== 14/4/1881 Sup Sadleir continued his evidence - some brief highlights ==

Sup Sadleir continued his evidence with events from early June 1880. After explaining what happened when Sup Hare took over from Nicolson Sadleir went on to explain the preparations for the trip to Beechworth to follow up on the death of Aaron Sherritt.

He also explained the standing orders for such an event that had been worked out some time before.

Why were ther only two members of the '''KellyGang''' involved in the death of Aaron Sherritt?

What happened at Benalla when O'Connor and his party arrived at Benalla on their way to Beechworth after Aaron Sherritt's murder?

The first news that Sadleir got of any trouble was a telegram saying that that the engine Mr. Hare was travelling on had not arrived at Wangaratta. The next was, that it had arrived at Wangaratta. Then the next message was, that that last one was a mistake; it had not arrived, and that firing was heard near Glenrowan.

Why was the Glenrowan Inn burnt down?

Wyatt was to coduct an inquest into the death of Joe Byrne.

Inquest into the death of Cherry.

'I looked upon the bodies as the bodies of outlaws, and that we might have done what we liked with them.'

Did Sadleir follow Standish's orders about the disposal of the bodies?

Why did Sadleir release the bodies? - long explanation

Why were coronial inquiries preferred but not held?

'Shot by the police in the execution of their duty.' Who did this verdict apply to?

'Shot as an outlaw' Who did this verdict apply to?

What did Carrington say about Sadleir's conduct at Glenrowan?

What happened to the police agents when Hare took over from Nicolson?

What did Sadleir think about Hare's replacement of Nicolson in June 1880?

Did Nicolson warn of likely bank robbery before the Euroa robbery?

What is the quickest route from Greta to Seymour if the '''KellyGang''' were going to rob the bank?

Plan to rush the Glenrowan inn.

'No; there is so much chopping and changing, and altering of brands, that unless the owner drops upon his own horse, no person can know it by description. They are so clever at altering the brands that even when the brands are being described to the police, as I have seen at Benalla, it is not until you have shaved closely that you can see the brand was tampered with. They use brands dipped in scalding water, and cigar ends, and are up to all sorts of tricks that we know nothing about.'

How many letters were sent to the police by the Diseased Stock Agent?
