This scenic reserve provides vistas of the Upper [[King River|King]] and the Alpine National Park. It is believed the lookout was a vantage point for bushranger Harry Power to view approaching troopers during his period of notoriety in the north-east

The Taungurung aboriginal community recognised Power's Lookout as part of their traditional country.
