Monday March 22 1875

Before Messers J Holmes PM, Wm M’Kellar, Robt M’Bean, and Dr Nicholson JP

ASSAULTS:

Samuel M’Kee, publican, appeared to answer a charge of assault preferred by one [[Frank Harty|Francis Harty]]. Mr M'Donnell for defendant. Harty stated that on the 11th inst he was in M'Kee's bar and asked for a bed. They had some conversation on politics, when defendant struck him on the head with a bottle after some altercation. He was not drunk at the time, nor had he abused defendant's wife in any way. - Dr Nicholson was examined as to the damage to plaintiff’s head, which was not much hurt, and might have been caused by falling on any sharp edge – Thomas Turner swore to bearing the plaintiff call Mrs M'Kee a b-- liar, upon which defendant pushed him out of the bar. Hs head came in contact with the half door; I he was not sober on the. occasion. - Case dismissed.
