The atrocious murders by the Kelly gang in Victoria has been the chief topic of conversation this week. Three mounted police have been sent from Deniliquin to Tocumwal, at which place I am informed they will be reinforced by police from other portions of the district. The party is under the charge of sergeant Johnston, of this town, who has the reputation of being an intelligent and determined officer, and will scour the country along the New South Wales bank of the Murray, with the view of intercepting the outlaws should they venture across the Murray into this district.
