A meeting of the Police Commission will be held tomorrow. It is proposed to consider the evidence in the case of Mr Winch. The application made by this officer for a board will not interfere with the line of examination decided upon by the com- mission. Should it be held that the evidence is complete, it is probable that the commission, in view of departmental requirements, will dispose of the matter off hand by resolution. It is also intended to examine Thos Boardman, who has applied to be heard in relation to certain charges against some of the detectives respecting their dealings with the criminal classes. This witness was recently sentenced to 12 months' imprisonment under the Vagrancy Act, at the instance of the detectives, who, he alleges, were anxious to get him out of the way to prevent him giving evidence against them before the commission.
