CORANDERRK ABORIGINAL STATION
In Parliament
Mr ZOX asked the Chief Secretary whether he intended to make any alteration in the management of the aboriginal station a Coranderrk
Mr BERRY said he was not in a position to give a definite answer to the question. The station was under a board of management and it was extremely difficult for a Chief Secretary to interfere. There was no doubt that the proximity of the station to the white population was very demoralising and if the dislike of the blacks to removal could only be overcome they should be shifted
THE CORANDERRK RESERVE
Mr DOW without notice asked the Chief Secretary if the Coranderrk aboriginal reserve would come under the provisions of the motion proposed by the hon member for Maryborough (Mr Bowman) regarding the preservation of public reserves.
Mr BERRY replied that the Government had no intention of selling this reserve at present. Nothing would be done with any reserve until the discussion on the motion was finished.
