ECHUCA, Thursday
A large number of men employed at the Moama wharf and dock have struck, and others are in a state of disaffection, owing to the difficulty experienced in getting their wages from the sub-contractors, who have not been paid by the contractor.
KOROIT, THURSDAY
The mayor and Councilors Officer and Coghlan will meet Mr Woods at Ellerslie on Friday, and invite him to Koroit to discuss railway matters.
To-day a swagman came hero and announced himself as one of the Kellys. He showed revolvers in his breast pocket, and said he had more in his swag. The residents were alarmed, and their fears magnified the affair. On information being given to the police Sergeant Gray went on the Warrnambool road and arrested the man, who gave the name of Patrick Hennessy. He had a powder-flask, a box of caps, and a horse-pistol capped, but not loaded. He will be brought up to-morrow,
